AIRCRAFT ASSESSING COMPANY
...ASSESSED FROM EVERY ANGLE

About

Aircraft Assessing Company (AAC)provides a range of technical services to aircraft owners, buyers and sellers of aircraft, financiers and the like. These services include pre-purchase inspections, pre-, mid- and post-lease assessments of aircraft, sworn valuations, management of repossessed aircraft, sourcing aircraft and aircraft equipment, maintenance record audits, logbook verification, maintenance cost review and so on.

Purchasers of an aircraft need to know they are buying what they think they are buying, whilst banks need to know that the aircraft they are possibly being asked to invest in is indeed what it is purported to be. The Aircraft Assessing Company will carry out an in-depth technical inspection on an aircraft to one of 5 predetermined levels. The various levels represent the depth to which the customer wishes to identify the condition of the aircraft. There are a number of different motivations as to why an inspection should be undertaken and therefore, the depth of the inspection may vary too.

Buyers and Sellers
of aircraft would benefit from independent pre-purchase inspections and market related valuations.

In the case of aircraft sales organizations or private sellers, the benefits of selling an aircraft with a full pre-purchase report from an independent source would add immediate value and would offer the prospective purchaser a high degree of comfort. By the same token, the pre-purchase inspection would highlight any problems with the aircraft, which allows the seller to rectify any faults prior to offering the aircraft to the prospective purchaser. This promotes a high level of credibility in the eyes of the person buying the aircraft and sets the seller up as "a cut above the rest".

Prospective purchasers would do well to have a pre-purchase inspection carried out prior to committing to purchasing a particular aircraft. The cost of the inspection is a drop in the ocean compared to the potential cost of purchasing a "lemon".

Financial Institutions
would benefit from establishing the true market value of an aircraft, based on an independent and unbiased technical inspection and market analysis. In some cases, financiers may wish to have periodic inspections carried out on their assets to ensure that they are being correctly maintained and that avionics, engines, propellers and equipment are as financed.

Insurance Companies
or individual owners would benefit from being able to offer their clients or themselves the opportunity to have repairs independently verified prior to release of the aircraft back into service.

Insurance Clients
- insurance is often a controversial subject and many clients are unfamiliar with their aviation insurance policy wording or parameters. The implications of either misunderstanding the wording or alternatively, not having the cover they thought they had can be extremely costly in the event of a claim. Aircraft Assessing Company is in a position to offer clients a thorough aviation insurance policy audit, presented to the client in clear language.
A safety audit would assist an Insurer or the insured to better assess an insurance risk. This service is particularly relevant and of benefit to operators who have been unfortunate enough to have experienced a high number of incidents and/or accidents in a short space of time or where the operation is deemed by insurers to have a high risk profile.

Accountants would be able to obtain accurate valuations of specific aircraft for Capital Gains Tax purposes. The Sworn Appraisals carried out by Aircraft Assessing Company have been officially approved by the South African Revenue Services for this purpose.
